Chapter 54, By The Holy Lake from the book "The Oath of Vayuputras" by Amish (Shiva Trilogy) In this chapter, the author describes Lord Karthik who is the War Lord, migrates to the south, the land of Manu. Manu is known as a prince in the Pandya dynasty. The author goes on to state that the nation and the fine Sangam culture had been destroyed by rising sea at the end of ice age and Karthik establishes new Sangam on the banks of river Kaveri. Popular tamil culture also states "குன்று இருக்கும் இடலேம்ம்லம் குமரன் இருக்கும் இடம்" Indicating that Lord Muruga (aka Karthik) moved a lot of people to high lands when the sea was consuming the land and thereby saving the Tamil Culture. This directly connects to the prominence of Lord Muruga today in the southern states and to the absence of Lord Karthik on the northern states. Given the fact that Amish T of Shiva Trilogy conducts enough research on the topics that is also very evident from his books, this excerpt from the chapter can be considered as a compliment to Kumari Kandam.
